July 22nd, 2011 Thomas Anderson The forced perspective technique manipulates our human perception with the use of optical illusions to make objects appear larger, smaller, farther, or closer than they actually are. Photography also uses forced perspective a lot as well to give a certain feel to an image. That’s why I was surprised to only find a few thousand results when searching for ‘forced perspective’ on Flickr.

July 19th, 2011 Thomas Anderson I’m always looking for something out of the ordinary. Keeping this tradition alive, I’m about to share a collection of a unique type of photography called Selective Color Photography.
Color photography is photography that uses media capable of representing colors, which are traditionally produced chemically during the photographic processing phase. By contrast, black-and-white (monochrome) photography records only a single channel of luminance (brightness) and uses media capable only of showing shades of gray.

Ask any photographer what they want to take pictures of during the Fourth of July and you will probably get the same answer. While everyone loves the food, festivals, and general craziness that goes on around Fourth of July celebrations; it is what happens after the sun sets that really gets photographers excited and nervous. Fireworks photography is notorious for missed shots, shaky images, bad exposures, and out of frame subjects. However, fireworks photography really is not as hard as you have been led to believe. July 1st, 2011 Thomas Anderson Many words are included in the vernacular of the photographer, however one in particular I keep hearing and seeing more of daily is "Strobist". What is a Strobist you ask? Well, friend, let me enlighten you as best I can.
Strobist is one of the techniques in the world of photography (any other name: Flash Photography, but I’ll use the term "Strobist" for the future). According to several sources of reference that I read, Strobist is a photography technique in dealing with light (yes, photography is painting on canvas the imagery of light, in other words, without light we would not be able to make a photo). Automatically we also need what is called the source of light. The light source itself can be of speedite flash, fluorescent lights, or even the sun. Today, I will show you some interesting examples of Strobist Photography.

Kevin Burg, a master in animations helped Jamie Beck, a New York city bases fashion photographer, to express her photography in aminations. This issue is called “Cinemagraphs”. Their work has been very famous in recent days and still getting attention. Few Gifs are featuring Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha. Rocha says Jamie Beck Cinemagraphs are “more than a photo, but not quite a video.”
Even though the concept of animated GIFs is as old as the Internet, the ones circling around the web are often tacky and low brow.
